After so much of the sport revolved around Tiger Woods' personal life in the past year, it was refreshing to see the game back in the headlines for something other than Woods' affairs.
After Europe jumped out to a big lead, the US team almost completed one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the competition. The narrow lead for Europe led to some big moments down the stretch, butMcDowell was simply too good for team Europe to lose. Golf is at its best when the competition is tight and the game's biggest stars battle right down until the final hole. The Ryder Cup finally delivered all of that and more, making up for an otherwise boring year for the sport.
