Jeff Fest 2013 - The KC All Stars Live in Concert - Fireworks at Lake Perry

Jeff Fest 2013 is happening today, July 6th, 2013, at Lake Perry near Topeka, Kansas. This is one of the biggest fireworks shows in the Kansas City area as they expect over 20,000 people to be in attendance.

The fun starts at 9am with a Jeff Fest Lake Perry children's activity area, a full blown car show, and a live DJ / Karaoke DJ on the Jeff Fest main stage all day until 2pm! Then, from 2pm - 3pm they will have a local Topeka band "Lost and Found" followed by Travis Martin at 4pm until 6pm. Then the show really kicks into gear with the headline band, voted "Best Band in Kansas City" 4 years in a row, The KC All Stars, presented by Adam Blue Productions and Kansas City Bands. This band is a MUST SEE, The KC All Stars are the hottest band in the Midwest, performing hits from every generation from Aretha to Beyonce.  They have incredible stage energy, costumes, dance steps and a spectacular light show that most National Acts cannot match. They are the jewel of Jeff Fest 2013.

But wait, Jeff Fest 2013 Lake Perry fireworks show goers, there's more!  As soon as the smoke clears from the stage after The KC All Stars light it up for 2 hours it will be time for the fireworks show! At 10pm Premier Pyrotechnics and Jeff Fest will put on an amazing 30 minute fireworks display, sure to dazzle your eyes and wrap up this 4th of July weekend in style!  It's your last chance to see one more great fireworks display in the Kansas City area as tonight will close out an incredible holiday weekend. Fireworks Display Overland Park Leawood by Kansas City News

The skies will be POPPIN' on Wednesday night, as the 4th of July fireworks in Overland Park, Leawood and Kansas City explode into the night at various different fireworks displays in Kansas City, Overland Park, Leawood and there will even be some great 4th of July events at The Kansas City Zoo during the day.

Visit 2013 Fireworks Displays

We will start with the daytime activities for the 4th of July in Kansas City:

Red, White and ZOO!
You can kick off your 4th of July celebration early at The Kansas City Zoo. On July 4, admission is free for all active and retired military personnel with a valid ID. Families of active and retired military personnel will receive $1 off the regular Zoo admission fee. Come visit Nikita the polar bear as he backflips in his cold water pool, or see our African plains exhibit from a new angle when you take our Sky Safari! With more than 1000 animals and 200 acres of land, the Zoo offers ample opportunities to create unforgettable holiday memories. The Kansas City Zoo will be open regular business hours on the 4th of July so bring the kids and come on out!

The City of Overland Park Fireworks Display - Star Spangled Spectacular
Overland Park will kick the 4th of July festivities off with their fabulous fireworks display at 9:30pm. The day begins at 4pm at Corporate Woods in Overland Park, Kansas with food, beverages, beer and activities for the kids. After that they will have a US Citizen's Naturalization Ceremony.  We're not sure what the purpose of that will be, but we're going to have to assume that it has to do with the increasing number of immigrants in the Olathe area in Johnson County. This ceremony seems a little "forced" if you ask us. But then again, all you have to do is visit your nearest Johnson County DMV and you will understand what the reasoning behind this "ceremony" might be - mostly because you will have to PUSH 1 FOR ENGLISH on the computer screen when you sign in.  It is appalling that the City of Overland Park would force everyone who came out to see the fireworks display to witness this Naturalization Ceremony, especially on our Nation's birthday. Congressman Kevin Yoder (R) will also make an appearance and do the official welcome.

The City of Leawood Fireworks Display and 4th of July Activities
The City of Leawood and their marvelous fireworks display will immediately follow the Overland Park fireworks display at 9:45pm. There will be plenty for all to do at the 2012 Leawood Fireworks Display as the gates will open at 5pm and will feature activities and food vendors for the kids and parents alike. At 7:30pm they will feature live music by Kansas City band The Shanks, produced by Adam Blue Productions. Please be aware that the Leawood City Park will be closed to all traffic for the entire day of the 4th of July, and that there will be a shuttle that will transport folks to the festivities from parking lots along Tomahawk Creek Parkway.

Fireworks in Overland Park, Leawood, Kansas City Displays

Fireworks displays in Overland Park, Leawood, Kansas City and more for July 3rd and 4th:

Info for 2015 Celebrations

City of Leawood 4th of July Celebration in the Park and Fireworks Display
Once again this year, barring a rain delay like we had last year, the City of Leawood will be holding their annual Celebration in the Park.  There are several events going all day long including a moonwalk, a train ride, face painters, a show by Lynn O'Brien's Cheer and Dance Camp, a concert from Kansas City band The Shanks, and at 9:45pm there will be a fireworks display.  Parking is not allowed in the Leawood Park but parking will be available along Tomahawk Creek Parkway.

Overland Park 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks Display at Corporate Woods
The 4th of July fun starts in Overland Park at Corporate Woods at 4pm with beer, food and live music.  We have a special treat this year as Congressman Kevin Yoder (R) will be opening the fireworks show with a welcome speech.  Yoder was recently elected to Congress - congratulations Kevin!  The more republicans we can pack in there the better, let's get out of this welfare based political path that Obama is trying to lead us down.  There is some old people band playing and then the fireworks begin at 9:30pm!

Riverfest Kansas City Fireworks Display on July 3rd
Can't wait until Monday for fireworks?  No problem, head down to the Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park for carnival rides, food, drink and live music from Brody Buster and other Kansas City bands.  The festival will be running on July 3rd and July 4th from 1pm - 11pm.  Fireworks will be launched on both Sunday night and on Monday night around 9:30pm.  Fireworks displays will light up the Kansas City skyline!  So if you're in downtown Kansas City, or at The Power and Light District, you will be in for a fiery, booming treat.

Worlds of Fun Fireworks Show July 3rd and 4th
Ugh, our poor sad amusement park, with duct tape on the roller coasters and all, will be holding their annual fireworks display on July 3rd and July 4th at 10pm.  Kansas City needs to build a new amusement park closer to the Southwest side of the city, where the money is, possibly near Stilwell.  Worlds of Fun is jammed so far into white trash-ville, that it is fighting for it's life to stay open each year.

Parkville, Missouri 4th of July Fireworks Festival
Due to flooding, it appears that this year's fireworks display in Parkville will be cancelled.  Hopefully the flood takes the Parkville Police station under water - those guys are complete assholes.  Fuck Parkville anyway.  We're going to be doing a follow up story on the topic of small towns with corrupt police departments soon so come back and see us :)

We will be enjoying the double delight of watching the Overland Park Corporate Woods fireworks show, and then turning our chairs slightly to watch the nearby Leawood fireworks show that immediately follows at 9:45pm from our secret spot that we will not post here.  Happy 4th of July Kansas City!
