Plaza Lighting 2015 Info by KCMB News Kansas City

Celebrate the magic of the season and join us for the 86th Annual Plaza Lighting 2015 Ceremony on Thanksgiving evening.



The live show begins at 6pm with a special tribute to our World Champion Royals and will end with Kansas City native and No. 1 New York Times Bestselling author of Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn as she flips the switch and lights up the Plaza. Indie rock band The Hembree will perform a free show following the ceremony.  

Arrive early for the Pre-show beginning at 5pm with live Kansas City bands performances and great giveaways from KCP&L.

Can't make it to the Plaza Lighting 2015 Event?  Tune into KSHB-TV 41 to watch the ceremony live beginning at 6pm, or stream it online at kshb.com.  Visit countryclubplaza.com for a ceremony map, parking guide and information on Plaza stores and restaurants open on Thanksgiving.

All the fun takes place on the Main Stage at Nichols Road & Pennsylvania by Brio Tuscan Grille.

6 - 7pm | Plaza Lighting 2015 Ceremony

6:54pm | Flip of Switch with Gillian Flynn
Followed by three simultaneous fireworks displays

7 - 8pm | Post Plaza Lighting 2015 Concert with The Hembree

The magic of the season continues each night when the plaza lights come on at 5pm through Sunday, January 17.

SANTA PAWS IS COMING TO TOWN

Come down to the Plaza for Santa photos with your pets, family, kids, friends - everyone is welcome! Santa Paws is located at 314 Ward Parkway next to Zoom Toy Store. Opening day is Friday, Nov. 27 from noon - 4pm, the day after the plaza lighting 2015 KC ceremony, and then every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 20. Photo packages start at $10 and proceeds benefit The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.
