Our proud Chefs got a really funky schedule in 2013 that quite possibly was one of the reasons that they were able to stay undefeated longer than any team in the NFL - 9 straight games. If the NFL would have pitted the Chiefs against Denver earlier in the season, there would have been a good chance that the Chiefs' winning streak would have hit an early brick wall. This is not to take away from the Chiefs success in 2013 as they did break several NFL records going 9-0 following a 2-14 season in 2012. This feat has never been done in the entire history of professional football.

But let's be honest, when the NFL had the Chiefs waiting until fricking WEEK 11 to play the Denver Broncos, it was a bit out of sorts to say the least. Then, to put some Orange and Blue frosting on the cake, they had the Chiefs turn around and play them 14 days later! What the hell? How did THAT Chiefs Schedule even make it out of the conference room? Didn't anyone notice that and say "hey, wait a minute! We've got the Chiefs waiting until week 11 to meet their division rival Denver Broncos, and then we have them playing them practically back to back 14 days later. What the hell man?" - Nope, no one said a word and that's the way the Chiefs schedule came out.

An argument could be made that this scheduling snafu was the cause of the crash and burn sequence that the Chiefs entered during the last segment of the season, where after the BYE WEEK they only won 2 games and lost 5. The Chiefs were 9 and 0 before the BYE WEEK and then 2 and 5 after the BYE WEEK. Something stinks in the kitchen on that one. Losing 3 straight to Denver, San Diego and then Denver AGAIN couldn't have been a good moral boost for the team.
