'Tis the Season for Stolen Cars!

Car theft is on the rise in Kansas City, and other cold weather cities as people leave their cars running unattended. Kansas City Police have reported that in the last 10 days there have been 8 stolen vehicles, with three of them being cars that have been left running unattended. We have all done it on a cold day, run into the store real fast and leave the car running so it will stay warm, or start the car in your driveway to warn it up. Don't do it, it makes you an easy target for thieves.

Actually, it is illegal (in both Kansas City and many cities in Kansas), you could end up with your vehicle stolen, AND get a ticket from the police. Leaving your car running unattended is stupid, certainly, but so is a law against it. It is even illegal to leave your car running in your own driveway. What's next, will it be illegal to leave your house unlocked? Have something valuable in your car? What about just being stupid, should there be a law against that? (there aren't enough prisons).

Anyway, just pay attention people and turn your car off when you get out of it and take the keys with you. And for God's sake, don't leave your baby unattended in a running car! Sheesh!

Bush Tax Cuts should be lower.

The Bush Tax Cuts incense me. I don't know when I have felt like an entire "group" of people are as completely insane, ignorant, and just don't get it, as people who support increasing taxes for those making over $250K per year. The Bush Tax Cuts would have been a tax increase had Obama not worked with Republicans to extend them. The truth is they need to be lower than the current rate of the Bush Tax Cuts Americans are bickering about now. I suggest a flat 20% for everyone...even whiny liberals who believe the world owes them everything and they shouldn't have to work for anything. Reducing taxes far beyond the Bush Tax Cuts would be good for individuals, good for businesses, and good for the economy. Fixing the tax code would be even better...

The fact that government cannot manage anything efficiently is no reason for the American taxpayer to suffer. Now that money is tight, budgets are under scrutiny, and government cuts are happening everywhere, it is painfully obvious that our government has been run incredibly inefficiently. The government coffers have dwindled, yet government life is still continuing. Hmmmm.

When did the notion begin that the money we make belongs to the government? There is an amount (20%) that will sustain the government, our infrastructure, our fire/police, and all other basic services the government provides. The closer taxes get to 20%, the better the economy will perform and the more revenue the government will collect. But I am from the school of thought that America is the land of the free and not the land of the oppressive government who takes over 50% of your income if you make over $250K when you count local and state taxes on top of your 39% federal income tax.

When is enough, enough? Where are we headed? Do you liberals truly think it is okay for a person to work their tails off, hustle to make a business or a business idea work, make $100K per year but be taxed 70% of your income so that you take home $30K per year and the guy who actually makes $30K per year gets to take home say $25K per year because of your liberal notion of social justice, screwed up taxation, and overall stupidity? If this sounds off, don't be too sure. If crazy liberals and Democrats (who are hell bent on keeping the poor people poor) had their way, rich people would get their asses handed to them in taxes in order to equal out the distribution of income so that those who take entrepreneurial risk are not rewarded but rather penalized for doing so.

Is being a racist cool? Does the word "faggot" make you mad? Is it cool to pay a man more than a woman for doing the same job? No? If you are so righteous, then why in heck is it okay to tax one person higher than another?

Here is my deal with you crazy liberals, you give me equal taxation and I will vote for gay marriage. Cool?

Eli Young Band Forgets Words to National Anthem @ Chiefs Game

Eli Young Band botches National Anthem at The Chiefs / Broncos Game at Arrowhead Stadium
by Kansas City News

That's BRUTAL!  The Eli Young Band from Texas completely blew the National Anthem at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, forgetting the words - TWICE - and screwing up the timing of the jet fly over.  The Chiefs fans were immediately all over this guy, booing and laughing as this poor singer struggled to remember the words to our country's theme.  The singer started off the first line ok, then forgot the second line, added an awkward pause, then did the unthinkable and STARTED OVER with the crowd continuing to boo and yell - this might have been the idea of his band mate who whispered something in the singer's ear.  Why did they have the whole band out there anyway?  The other three members of the band were just standing there doing nothing.  This shows the lack of talent of today's young musicians.  Back in the day when bands had talent, an entire band would NEVER just stand around out there while one guy sang the National Anthem, the entire band would sing - for instance when Huey Lewis and The News performed the National Anthem - now THAT was class.  Take a lesson, young talentless musicians of the Eli Young band, watch that video of Huey Lewis and the News and realize that you guys just got lucky with a lift up from Miranda Lambert.

Note:  The Eli Young band got a free lift from country music industry friend Miranda Lambert when she needed an opening act - ah, the empty, soulless, commercial driven music industry - as long as you're under 25, have spikey super-gel hair and can sing into a computer that fixes your voice, you've got a record deal.  The good news is, the label will be taking all of your money.

Chiefs Win, Control AFC West

The Chiefs Defense came up big time and time again on Sunday to beat the Broncos 10-6. No, it wasn't pretty, but a win is a win. That coupled with a Raiders upset at San Diego have the Chiefs in control of the AFC West. The Chiefs kept it interesting all day with their inability to score (or lack of foresight to kick the field goal in a tight game.) Penalties really hurt the Chiefs offense all day long as well as a very stingy Denver defense, particularly in the passing game. Dwayne Bowe was held catchless by Champ Bailey and others as he was double-teamed all day. Matt Cassel was again efficient going 17-13 for 196 yards and a TD (again no INTs - and 158 consecutive passes without an interception). Jamaal Charles was steady with 116 yards rushing. The return to action of Dexter McCluster was a much needed boost. He had a couple of catches.

The real story for the Chiefs in this one was the Defense. They were excellent. Brandon Carr, especially, but the whole secondary gave Orton fits. The Denver quarterback was just 9-28 on the day, OUCH! Tamba Hali had two sacks, one of which he forced a fumble and recovered it (Derrick Thomas Style).

San Diego's unexpected loss to the Raiders give the Chiefs a 2 game lead in the division. A win next week in San Diego would all but clinch it (barring the Raiders winning out). Whatever happens, it sure is good to play meaningful games in December, watching the scoreboard to see what other teams are doing, in short, it's just good to care again.
